Act one

The practice

Fophex didn't start as a software company. It started in accounting. For more than twelve years, our founder's practice has done the books for businesses across fourteen-plus industries: trading, banking, healthcare, real estate, hospitality, aviation, insurance, automotive, legal, and more. Different sectors, different rules, the same recurring problem. The systems were never quite built for the work.

The same invoice re-keyed into three places. Reconciliations that should have taken minutes. Audits prepared by reconstructing decisions no system had bothered to record. When you're the one signing off on the numbers, you learn exactly where enterprise software gives up and hands the work back to a person.

Act two

The build

So we stopped working around the problem and built the system ourselves. Our engineering team delivered Fophex® ERP in-house: cloud-native, with ten integrated modules spanning financial accounting, inventory, HR and payroll, fixed assets and property management. Multi-currency, multi-entity, role-based access, built for the compliance requirements our clients actually faced.

Not a product designed from a requirements document. One shaped by the work we were already doing every day.

Act three

The transformation

Building it taught us the lesson that led here. Better software wasn't enough, because the work still needed doing. A cleaner interface doesn't close the books. A better workflow doesn't reconcile the exception. Someone still has to do it.

AI is what changes that. So the same team is now building the agentic platform, led by an engineering founder who joined for exactly this, alongside a finance founder who has spent twelve years accountable for other people's numbers. Between them, the principle is simple: you don't hand the books to an AI and hope. You build a system that can prove every decision it makes.
